Mae'r fath feddyliau mawrion

Rhan IV/V
Mae'r fath feddyliau mawrion
  Yn c'odi'm hysbryd gwàn
Oddi ar bob peth crëedig
  Yn uchel iawn i'r làn;
Gan brisio aur ac arian,
  Y perlau mwyaf drud,
Ger bron cyfiawnder dwyfol
  Yn sorod gwael i gyd.

'N ôl edrych ar ôl edrych,
  O gwmpas imi mae
Rhyw fyrdd o ryfeddodau
  Newyddion yn parhau;
Pan b'wy'n rhyfeddu un peth,
  Un arall ddaw i'm bryd;
O! iachawdwriaeth rasol,
  Rhyfeddol wyt i gyd.

Bendithion ar fendithion,
  Trysorau angeu loes -
Grawnsypiau mawrion addfed
  Yn hongian ar y groes,
Sydd yn cwmpasu'm henaid,
  Rhinweddau mawr eu grym;
A minnau yn eu canol
  Heb allu d'wedyd dim.

Mi welaf yn Ei fywyd
  Y ffordd i'r nefoedd fry;
Ac yn Ei angeu'r taliad
  A roddwyd trosof fi;
Yn Ei esgyniad gwelaf
  Drigfanau pur y nef,
A'r wledd dragwyddol berffaith
  Gâf yno gydag Ef.

Such great thoughts are
  Raising my weak spirit
From every created thing
  Very high up;
While valuing gold and silver,
  The most costly pearls,
Before his divine righteousness
  All as poor dross.

After looking and looking,
  Around me there are
Some myriad of new
  Wonders enduring;
While I'm wondering one thing,
  Another comes to my mind;
O gracious salvation!
  Thou art wonderful altogether.

Blessings upon blessings,
  Treasures of the throes of death -
Large, mature grape-clusters
  Hanging on the cross,
Which encompass my soul,
  Wonders of great force;
And I in their midst
  With no ability to say anything.

I see in His life
  The way to heaven above;
And in His death the payment
  He gave for me;
In His ascension I see
  The pure residences of heaven,
And the perfect, eternal feast
  I shall get there with Him.
